HOW MUCH INFORMATION IS TOO MUCH INFORMATION

The Internet is part of our lives. we spend an average of at least 2 hours in a day using the internet looking for information, watching videos, listening to songs, downloading essential media files but for doing all these activities on the internet we most of the times enter our personal details into the registration forms which will give us access to the websites from which we get all desired information and files.

BUT DO WE REALIZE ALL THESE INFORMATION THAT WE GIVE TO INTERNET IS NOT SECURED?

It becomes very important to be aware of what we share online and make controlled use of data. It doesn’t matter how old you are or what you do with your life, information that you provide about yourself on the internet is highly valued. This is why every web page you visit, every click, like or share is carefully monitored and stored by all websites.

You think you are an ordinary person and no one is interested in your online activities, definitely not. There is also an invisible side to the Internet that most people have never seen. When you are online visiting websites, you may think you're alone. But you are not when you visit any website, there's a number of companies on the page that are essentially tracking your visits.

Few things that is worth bothering about are:

1. We also already know that every browser stores our search history in its database and it also can save usernames and passwords of a user. Google knows everything you do on internet using it and your gmail account. check your activities google has track of : click me.

2. Internet knows which brands you like , what products you use and from where do you buy them. All clickable Ads pop ups and side bar Ads are based on a survey they show relavent Ads to every single person .

They’re collecting mountains of data about your purchasing habits and preferences. The chains are using the data to serve up personalized experiences when you visit their websites, personalized coupon offers, and more.

3. Many applications installed  on our phone has access to our personal data like contacts, gallery and location.

4. Youtube knows what videos you have been watching and searching for. Youtube with a google account will let google to store your youtube activities too.

5. I read that facebook knows how intelligent you are, how satisfied you are with your life, and whether you are emotionally stable or not – simply based on a big data analysis of the ‘likes’ you have clicked.

6. Google knows what you ask cortana and apple knows what you ask siri. These data can be stored and used for later purposes.
The Internet also knows where you live and what you are doing. Using the hidden meta-data about the geographic location of where the photo was taken which you share when you publish photos of you on sites like Instagram and other social media networks.

So, next time think twice before you generate data and use internet.

Happy browsing ...!!!
